To all the Charlie Brown Lovers!

For all you Charlie Brown lovers out there, I am featuring two for you today!

First, we have Charlie Brown's Christmas Tales. In standard format, it's a "holiday special made up of a series of animated vignettes, each featuring members of the Peanuts gang." Perfect for anyone who loves the Peanuts! Also included on this disc is the rarely seen "Is This Goodbye, Charlie Brown?". This is about when Charlie Brown is faced with the departure of Linus and Lucy who must move when their father is transferred to a job in another town.

Next, we have the Peanuts Holiday Collection. This is newly released on blu-ray for the first time! This is a "box set that contains three popular seasonal Peanuts specials in one set ("A Charlie Brown Christmas," "A Charlie Brown Thanksgiving," and "It's a Great Pumpkin Charlie Brown"."

Lili has been learning all about Thanksgiving at her school the past few weeks. I just love listening to her tell me about what she has learned. It was fun to pop this in and watch it with her. She thought it was super funny that in "A Charlie Brown Thanksgiving" she got to see the "characters" she had been learning about in school.

My little 4-year old is constantly asking question about Santa Claus about this time of year - especially since we see him everywhere. I was sent this little article and I thought I would share it with you as well:

As parents, we pass down the stories and traditions of Santa Claus. Even if we can’t think of a logical explanation as to how he visits every home on one night or why there are so many Santa look-alikes all around town each December, it is important that we support the TRUE meaning of Christmas... The simplest thing is to tell your children to have faith and to just believe. Children love magic, so if you just explain that Santa is magical, that should hopefully help them understand the underlying spirit of Christmas.

Santa Claus is a wonderful tradition, and establishing traditions in your family that get passed down from generation to generation—such as baking cookies for Santa and his elves each Christmas Eve or leaving carrots out for his reindeer—helps create a bond between you and your children. It also makes the holiday more meaningful, memorable and fun for kids, who otherwise might complain about wearing a coat and tie to Christmas Eve dinner at grandma’s. Two new DVD's released from PBS Kids!

When we first signed up for cable television, Lili was about 3 years old. We don't watch TV a whole lot, but it almost always comes to SuperWhy when it is on. I really like this show because it isn't just another brainless children's show. The kids are learning with this! I hear Lili yell from the room as she is interacting with the show.

Another favorite in our house is Dinosaur Train: Dinosaurs in the Snow. I love the little dinosaurs in there - they are so sweet!

A Whole New Way for Kids to Watch and Play!

Disney is launching tomorrow, November 16th, a version of a child size remote/video game for kids aged 2-5. It is called the Mickey Mote - and I was sent this along with two games/DVD's to try out! I think it is very fun and VERY simple for the little ones to enjoy. We have a wii gaming system and have some kid friendly games, but those games are not near as simple at this new Mickey Mote! They are releasing this just in time to add this to your little one's Christmas list. If they love the Disney channel, they will love what this has to offer. Here is a little more info:

Keller Wiliams' First Children's CD!

The best way I can describe the Keller Williams CD Kids would be... Funny, quirky and childish.  And quite frankly, what better combination for a children's CD? Keller Williams sounds like he managed to grow up, but not quite all the way, allowing his songs to connect with kids on their level.

For instance, I think you'd be hard pressed to find a seven year old boy who didn't appreciate a little potty humor (and let's all be honest here, there are lots of 37 year old boys who still appreciate that too). The giggle inducing "Mama Tooted" is perfect for them.

Now, a show of hands please from all the grown up mamas who were once little girls who worked hard to master all the hand-jive, hopscotch, and jump rope chants of their childhood. Your little girls will probably appreciate listening to "Horse Back Rider" over and over until they too have mastered the increasing tempo of this track and are able to keep up.

Oh, and everyone can use the good advice provided in the aptly named "Good Advice."  Because you should "never pick your toes and then pick your nose, cause then your nose smells like your toes."

When I was a kid, we watched Chitty Chitty Bang Bang over and over and over! I was thrilled to see that they were re-releasing this classic movie on Blu-Ray. We have a blu-ray player and my goodness, you can see the difference! I can't wait to create memories with my daughters watching this movie...over and over and over! :)

My daughter was first introduced to Hannah Montana when the movie came out. Her best friend has an older sister and they were watching it and dancing to the music. It is pretty cute really. I must say I sat there along with them and watched too! Her newest episode, "Hannah Montana Forever" was just released the beginning of November.

I, along with my daughter, was excited to receive this DVD. It is quite entertaining...although I am not going to ruin the surprise. Does she tell the world or not? You will have to watch and see!

Celebrate Christmas Olivia Style!

I'll be honest, I hadn't watched much Olivia until we received this DVD from Nickelodeon. I had always seen the previews for the show, just never watched it because we already have our favorites. Well, since watching this first ever holiday movie, Merry Christmas Olivia, we are now fans.

This DVD has 8 episodes featured on it and is approximately an hour and a half long. Perfect for some quiet time or some fun time for me and Lili!

Here is a little about some of the episodes featured:
Olivia spreads Christmas cheer at Francine’s July beach party! Then, with her favorite doll, Matilda, missing, Olivia dreams of being a Santa who returns lost toys. Merry Christmas Olivia!

There are actually quite a few DVD's out from Olivia - if you love her and her show, just search it and you will find them too. I went over to Amazon and found quite a few! They also have a lot of other Nickelodeon DVD's on there too!

Backyardigans Christmas DVD!

We love Backyardigans - and were so happy to receive their newest DVD a couple weeks back! Nickelodeon sent us the Christmas with the Backyardigans for us to tell you all about! It is available NOW for you to purchase as well! This is their first-ever holiday release too!

One thing that I really like about these DVD's from Nickelodeon are there are multiple episodes on the DVD's - not only one and done. Kinda nice for a longer "quiet time" activity.

Here is a little about the episodes:
*The Action Elves Save Christmas Eve - Abominable Snowmen Tyrone and Austin accidentally take Santa's magic sack. Now the action elves (Uniqua, Pablo and Tasha) must use their talents to bring the sack back to Santa and save Christmas.

*Pablo and the Acorns - Acorn scouts Tasha, Tyrone and Austin are in a space race for the Crystal of Power vs. the evil space-dictators Pablo and Uniquor!

*The Big Dipper Diner - Space police Tyrone and Tasha mistake Uniqua and Pablo's sweetest customer as a dangerous space alien known as the Blarg.

*The Amazing Splashinis - Uniqua, Tyrone and Pablo, diving experts, are practicing their newest, highest, most riskiest dive at the Splashini Water Park when a sea monster interupts their practice. While he's great fun to play with, they need to get down to business!

Each of the four episodes is what you come to expect from the Backyardigans - just plain cute!
